The Directorate of Roads and Bridges in Kirkuk Governorate revealed the completion of a number of important projects, while confirming that its current project is the “Kirkuk-Baghdad” road.
The road is currently witnessing the largest rehabilitation process carried out by the Roads and Bridges Department in more than 30 years, with a length of 400 km, as it is considered one of the most damaged roads in the country, causing thousands of traffic accidents annually. The director general of the directorate, Qassim Hamza Al-Bayati, said: “The directorate is implementing several strategic projects in the field of roads within the governorate’s plan, and others with completion rates between 50 to 80 percent,” noting that “the most important project currently is the (Kirkuk-Baghdad) road project for the point of the intersection. The people and even the industrial neighborhood bridge at the entrance to the city of Kirkuk.”
