Today, Thursday (June 6, 2024), the mayor of Tuz Khurmatu district in Salah al-Din Governorate, Zain al-Abidin Hassan, confirmed the completion of all sections and bridges located on the Baghdad-Kirkuk road from the district side.
Hassan said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "all sections and bridges have been completed and more traffic controls and surveillance cameras have been deployed on the Baghdad-Kirkuk road."
He added, "The remaining 70 kilometers of the road from Tuz Khurmatu to Daquq District in Kirkuk Governorate are in the process of being completed within a few weeks. This will contribute to ending a major problem of recurring traffic accidents on the Baghdad-Kirkuk road, since this area is where accidents occur almost daily that lead to deaths." and mass casualties.
Hassan pointed out, "The Prime Minister attaches great importance to rehabilitating the Baghdad-Kirkuk road, and there are engineering and maintenance teams racing against time to complete the task before the end of the current period, so that the road is fully rehabilitated."
