The economist, Nabil Jabbar Al-Ali, ruled out, on Sunday, the need to establish a sovereign fund with oil price differences, considering that the invitation of the head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis Al-Khanjar, to establish a sovereign fund that presented itself as an economic figure capable of changing the economic situation.
Al-Ali said in a statement to “The Information” that “Iraq continues to borrow periodically from financial institutions and countries at a higher interest rate, and therefore the calls for the establishment of a sovereign fund with oil price differentials refer to more than one issue, and it is in contradiction with the Food Security Law that the government and some political forces are trying to Parliament from using the cash surplus and transferring it to the powers of the government.”
He added, "Al-Khanjar is trying to present himself as an economic figure to establish his political presence and his connection with Gulf countries, and to show himself as a man of the stage capable of changing the economic situation."
