The Commander of the Air Defense, Lieutenant-General Maan Al-Saadi, revealed that two high detection radars have arrived in Iraq, while indicating that the operations center of the new Air Defense Command will be a qualitative shift towards monitoring Iraqi airspace.

Al-Saadi said in his speech during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the main operations center of the Air Defense Command, that "the foundation stone was laid today for the construction of the operations center for the Air Defense Command, which will be a qualitative transition towards monitoring the Iraqi airspace," noting that "the high detection radar system has reached Iraq and will be deployed in the provinces of Diwaniyah and Anbar.

He added, "Two of these systems will arrive soon, they will be placed in Nineveh and Basra," noting that "an American system will also arrive and will be deployed in Kirkuk province."

He continued, "We aspire to obtain low detection radars."
