Political analyst Ihsan Al-Shammari confirmed, today, Wednesday, that the political crisis in Iraq has greatly affected the economic file in the country due to political instability, as well as the disruption of the approval of the general budget, in addition to corruption operations.
Al-Shammari said that "large capitals of Iraqi investors were smuggled from Iraq and headed abroad because of the fear of armed conflict, the spread of chaos and disruption of public life in the country."
Al-Shammari explained, "The Arab and foreign investment companies are very apprehensive about investing in Iraq, and there is a fear that some of these companies that have investments in advance will leave because the capital is cowardly and is always looking for political, security and economic stability."
Since the parliamentary elections in October 2021, Iraq has faced complete political paralysis with the inability to elect a new president and form a new government.
The main difference is that the Sadrist movement wanted a “national majority” government in alliance with the Sunnis and the Kurds, while its opponents, in the coordinating framework, wanted to maintain the consensual formula.
And the current crisis began, after the Sadrist movement refused at the end of July, the candidate of the coordination framework for the prime minister.
