    Economy News - Baghdad
The Parliamentary Finance Committee denied, on Thursday, talk about the government’s inability to pay employees’ salaries after the Cabinet’s decision to install contract employees, free lecturers, and administrators on permanent staffing, indicating that the number of employees in the country amounted to 3.5 million.
Committee member Mueen Al-Kazemi said, "The measure taken by the Ministry of Finance came based on the decision of the Council of Ministers to appoint several segments of society," pointing out that "360,000 new employees are on permanent staffing, bringing the total number to nearly 3 and a half million."
He added, "The Ministry of Finance has taken it upon itself to appoint and install contract employees and free and administrative lecturers through the process of managing the transfer of some amounts allocated from a specific government institution or from one ministry to another, in a way that does not burden the government's economic situation."
Al-Kadhimi continued, in an interview with "Al-Ghad Press", followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the Sudanese government has taken upon itself all possibilities and expectations of a drop in oil prices, as the operating budget will be decided at an amount of $ 60 per barrel."
Al-Kadhimi called on the government to "direct towards activating ministries, institutions and departments to record better performance than the previous period, as it must increase employee productivity and support the private sector to employ thousands of manpower in the country."
