    Economy News - Baghdad
The Communications and Media Commission announced on Wednesday the preparation of a training and development program that will create job opportunities for young people in coordination with the global company Apple, while indicating the provision of technical and legal support and the necessary studies to improve the business environment and build the digital economy in Iraq, and confirmed the development of a roadmap to build a long-term strategic relationship with Apple.
The head of the authority, Ali Mu'ayyad, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the authority began dialogue and opening horizons for strategic cooperation about a year and a half ago, during which a number of meetings and discussions were held to exchange enrichment and viewpoints and develop a roadmap to build a long-term strategic relationship with Apple as one of the major and solid global companies, which resulted in the visit of a high-level delegation from government affairs responsible for the Iraq file as a first step on the path to implementation."
He stressed that "the first step was with the blessing of the Prime Minister, who expressed his support and directives to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing major companies to be a true strategic partner of the state in developing services, creating job opportunities, building capabilities, and transferring expertise and knowledge."
He pointed out that "the Authority, in coordination with Apple, is working to prepare and establish a training and development program that will create job opportunities for young people, in addition to transferring global expertise and providing technical and legal support and the necessary studies to improve the business environment and build the digital economy in Iraq."
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed earlier, during his meeting with a delegation from the American company Apple, in the presence of the Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, that Iraq is witnessing transformations in the digital reality today.
The company delegation suggested working within the framework of contributing to developing the capabilities of young people, and caring for developers in the fields of technology in cooperation with universities, as well as registering phones entering Iraq in a way that makes them at competitive prices, and due to the importance of the company’s phone products, because they support digital transformations related to the economy and money.
