    Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, today, Tuesday, issued several directives during his visit to the General Directorate for Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control.


    The ministry stated, in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "the Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, conducted an inspection visit, today, Tuesday, to the General Directorate for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, and held an extensive meeting with its general director and directors of directorates in Baghdad and the provinces, in which he was briefed on the efforts made by its cadres."     According to the statement, the minister stressed that "drugs are a pest that must be eliminated and their negative repercussions on society prevented because of their catastrophic effects and consequences on societal peace," stressing the importance of implementing arrest warrants against drug dealers and promoters, as it is a duty that must be fully accomplished.
