    Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, chaired, on Wednesday, a meeting devoted to discussing the progress of work on the dry canal project.
    The meeting was attended by the Minister of Transport and the consulting company in charge of preparing the project designs, according to a statement received by Shafaq News agency.



    Al-Sudani stressed, "This project falls within the strategic projects that the government focuses on, and he directed the need to expedite its implementation and shorten the stages, in order to achieve revenues and qualitative differences that reflect positively on the Iraqi economy."
    The dry canal project, according to official statements issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Transport, is the international land line that connects southern Iraq with its north, as Iraqi ports want to link the port of Al-Faw with this channel, so that they can transport goods arriving from India, East Asia and the Arabian Gulf, which put their goods inside the port of Al-Faw. Al-Kabeer to transport it to northern Iraq and then to Turkey and then to the European warehouse in Germany.
