The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "Al-Sudani chaired a meeting devoted to discussing the integrated gas development project, in the presence of the CEO of the French company Total Energies, Patrick Pouyanne, in addition to the presence of a number of officials in the field of oil and energy on the Iraqi side."
The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed files for the development of gas investment in Iraq, and the progress of work in a number of major strategic projects in this regard, the first of which is the burning gas investment project in the southern region with a capacity of (600 cubic meters), as well as the project to develop the Artawi field, and the desalination project." The joint sea water, which is the projects associated with the Ministry of Oil, as well as the solar energy project associated with the Ministry of Electricity with a capacity of 1000 megawatts.
The Prime Minister stressed "the importance of moving forward with energy projects that the ministerial platform has given priority and special importance to, as they represent the future vision of the national energy sector."
Al-Sudani stressed "the goal of achieving the optimal investment of the country's wealth of oil, gas and natural resources, and finding sources of alternative and renewable energy, instead of total dependence on fossil fuels."
