Baghdad / Obelisk: The staff of Al-Baghdadiya TV channel were arrested, last Wednesday, after filming a program in which the guest appeared talking about corruption files in Anbar Governorate, and about the raging conflict between clan heads and between supporters and opponents of Iraqi Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.
Mystery still surrounds the details of the disappearance of the Al-Baghdadiya channel staff, which talked about an armed group that kidnapped the channel's staff after filming an episode that included criticism of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi.
The channel added that a regiment from the region's protection was the one who kidnapped the channel's staff and led them to an unknown destination.
According to the channel, the staff is subject to arrest after exposing corruption files during the ninth program.
Al-Baghdadiya TV held the Minister of Interior, Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, and the Anbar Police Chief, Hadi Rizej , responsible for the kidnapping of the staff.
No official statement was issued by Anbar Police Chief Hadi Rezej on the matter.
Last Tuesday, the politician in Anbar province, Hamid al-Hayes, accused Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi of fanning the situation in Anbar after his visit to the isolated head of the Iraqi Awakenings, Ahmed Abu Risha, warning al-Halbousi not to cross the red lines in Anbar.
Despite the recommendations of the Judicial Council not to arrest media professionals without notifying the Syndicate in opinion cases, Anbar still ignores judicial decisions and does not obey the limits of the law.
The Iraqi Clans Awakening Council denounced the attack on the staff of Al-Baghdadiya channel, while the journalist specializing in Anbar news, Azhar Al-Jumaili, revealed to Al-Masalla that unknown cars carrying government badges were the ones that kidnapped two of the staff.
And before that, Al-Jumaili said that a force of integrity in Baghdad accompanied by a force from Swat raided a house in the Al-Thila area near Al-Ramadi Hospital in search of the owner of an exchange office, and found in his house 3 and a half million dollars and (15 billion Iraqi dinars).
And political contracting in Anbar is not new, as al-Jumaili talks about contracting companies that were stealing Fallujah projects, taking projects from the Americans and threatening contractors, calling for opening investigations behind the disappearance of the owners of other companies that were competing with influential parties at that time.
