The President of the Republic, Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, called for providing all armed support to the Popular Mobilization Forces, and while Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani stated that the government is working to develop a law that guarantees a dignified retirement for the people of the Hashd, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi stressed the need to perpetuate victory and preserve the role of The crowd, to remain a symbol of national unity and solidarity among the Iraqi components.
And the President of the Republic said, yesterday, Wednesday, in a speech delivered by his representative, Abdullah Al-Alaywi, during the annual central ceremony marking the ninth anniversary of the founding of the Popular Mobilization Forces in the presence of “Al-Sabah”: “We are celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which participated in the liberation of Iraq from the criminal ISIS, where the Iraqis represented noble human values as they rush to meet the fatwa of the rational reference of Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (may his shadow be long) with sufficient jihad at a level that dazzled the world who was questioning the unity of the Iraqis and their ability to repel the brutal terrorist attack," noting that "the Iraqis have proven once again that they are the makers of victories as they are the makers of civilizations." And they are the first teachers of patience and testimony.”
Rashid congratulated the Popular Mobilization Forces on the anniversary of its founding, calling for "providing armed and training support for it, taking care of its members and its wounded, and taking care of the families of its martyrs," and stressed the need for "state institutions to commemorate the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces, led by the martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and to exclude anyone who harms the reputation of this institution." Those who submit to the motives of corruption and those who benefit at the expense of the blood of the martyrs.”
For his part, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani said: "Had it not been for the great fatwa (of the religious authority), Iraq and the region would have been under the rule of terrorist gangs, which ravaged cities, abused women, and killed elders and children," pointing out that "the role of the popular mobilization formations was not limited to liberating the land, but rather supported the army to preserve state institutions and the political system in Iraq.”
He pointed out that "the crowd has become one of the most important security formations on which the state and the government depend to face future dangers," and stated that "the crowd, after the issuance of its law, now possesses full legitimacy based on the constitution, and is subject to the supervision of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, like the rest of the security services." Pointing out that "the government is working today to develop a law that guarantees a dignified retirement for the people of the Hashd, like their brothers in the rest of the security forces."
He noted that "the government places justice for the families of the martyrs and wounded of the Popular Mobilization Forces at the top of its priorities, just as it works to provide justice for the families of all martyrs and wounded in the security forces, and the government is working to establish camps, headquarters and bases for the Popular Mobilization Forces outside the cities, in order to achieve the combat goal for which it was established."
In his turn, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi said, in his speech during the ceremony: "The sacrifices made by members of the Popular Mobilization Forces, along with their brothers in all other armed formations, and the heroic performance they made in the field, are witnessed by history," stressing that "these sacrifices deserve all praise." and appreciation.”
And he stressed "the necessity of perpetuating and preserving victory by completing the necessary procedures for the stability of cities that have been subjected to terrorism, foremost of which is construction and the return of the displaced to their homes." Institutional and under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and within a unified security framework, and to achieve in those contexts his goals and the goals of the nation.
As for the head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Faleh al-Fayyad, he stressed in his speech that the crowd is a military institution that has no political opinion, and said: “The popular crowd and the security forces broke the barrier of defeat and then victory,” noting that “the crowd broke the equation of the bad situation that prevailed in That period" .
He pointed out, "The coming days will be an opportunity to launch the legalization of the Popular Mobilization Institution," stressing that "the crowd will not hesitate to defend the constitution."
