    Baghdad today - Baghdad
The House of Representatives is awaiting a new legislative chapter full of laws that some political parties aim to legislate according to political agreements, with the legislation of laws affecting the lives of citizens stalled since the previous parliamentary sessions.
On the other hand, the independent deputies accuse the major political forces of dominating and controlling the parliamentary scene, according to political deals that are far from the requirements and desires of the Iraqi street.
     Slums and intelligence
And the representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad al-Shammari, told "Baghdad Today", that "the House of Representatives is waiting, during its new legislative term, for the approval of a package of important laws, especially since some laws have been suspended since the previous parliamentary sessions, for political, technical and legal reasons."
Among the most prominent of these laws, according to Al-Shammari, are "the slums law, the amendment of the retirement law, the civil service law, the intelligence law, the national security law, the information crimes law, the freedom of expression law, the amendment of the drug law, and many other laws."
He points out that "certainly passing these laws requires political agreement and consensus, and there is a tendency for the State Administration Coalition, which has the majority in the House of Representatives, to legislate these and other laws during the parliament's legislative season."
The budget overthrows the "general amnesty and oil and gas"
For his part, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafaa Muhammad Karim, told "Baghdad Today", that "there are laws that have a political agreement that must be legislated with the start of the legislative term of parliament, and they are both the general amnesty law and the oil and gas law," adding, "These laws should have been It should start after six months of the Sudanese government’s life, but it was delayed due to preoccupation with passing the budget law.”
And he believes that "after the start of the new legislative term of the House of Representatives, the halls of the parliament will witness intensive meetings between all parties to the state administration coalition in order to agree on the final versions of the legislation of the general amnesty law and the oil and gas law, and there is a governmental desire to legislate these laws, on the other hand there are some political parties seeking To obstruct the passage of these laws, as in previous years.
The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party stressed that "the forces of the coordination framework are required to abide by the political agreements and not violate them, as happened in the budget law. These agreements were the basis for forming the State Administration Coalition, which is formed by the government of Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, and there are other laws that the State Administration Coalition forces will work on." To pass it according to a schedule and timings that will be set by the Presidency of Parliament in agreement with the political blocs.
Political interests and desires of the street
For his part, independent MP Sajjad Salem told "Baghdad Today" that "the House of Representatives is run by the big political forces, which seek to make the legislative and oversight institution a tool in their hand to achieve political and personal interests, and work away from the requirements and desires of the Iraqi street, especially with regard to legislating laws that directly affect the lives of citizens.
And Salem indicated that "the influential and power-holding forces are working to rob the will of independent representatives, and for this they are working to pass all laws in accordance with agreements and political deals between them, and this is what witnessed the sessions of passing the budget law, although the independent representatives and emerging blocs worked to impose what the Iraqi street wanted, Despite all attempts to take away the will.
He added, "As independent deputies, we will work, with the start of the new legislative term, to submit parliamentary requests signed by the deputies to include important laws that affect the lives of citizens on the agenda of the sessions in order to proceed with their legislation during the next stage, away from any political deals."
It is worth noting that the House of Representatives entered its legislative recess after voting on the budget law, which lasted for several sessions due to differences between the political forces over a number of paragraphs and articles of the law, as the House will resume its sessions at the beginning of next month.
