The representative of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Suhaila Al-Sultani, confirmed, on Thursday, that Iraq has solid laws and does not need to legislate a general amnesty in order to invest it electorally to buy the votes of voters and reach power through them.
Al-Sultani told Al-Maalouma, “Iraq has very solid and impeccable laws, and it does not need to legislate new laws such as a general amnesty in order to release murderers, criminals, and terrorists from prisons.”
She added, "Some political parties seek, as each election approaches, to focus on specific issues in order to invest in them electorally and buy voters' votes by indulging the feelings of others and trying to harmonize with their aspirations to reach power."
She indicated that "some parties are seeking to release criminals in order to win the elections and satisfy the families of these criminals without thinking about the tragedy of the families of the victims and martyrs whose blood was shed at the hands of those seeking to release them from prisons."
