Earth News/ The explosives detachments of the Popular Mobilization Forces continue to survey and clear the land designated for the Nibras Petrochemical Project of mines and war remnants.
A statement by the Mobilization Authority received by Earth News stated, “This comes within the national effort to remove mines and war remnants, as more than one million square meters have been cleared and surveyed out of the total area of the project, which amounts to two million nine hundred square meters.”
She added, “The Nebras Petrochemical Project, which belongs to the Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, is the largest petrochemical project in the Middle East. Work on it was halted for a decade due to war waste. This is the first participation of the Popular Mobilization Forces in the campaign to remove war waste in southern Iraq through the Explosives Directorate.”
