Today, Wednesday, the Communications and Media Commission issued 4 decisions against Korek Communications Company.
The Authority stated in a statement, “Based on the expiration of Korek Company’s license on August 30, 2022, the judicial decisions issued by the competent courts, the decisions of the Authority’s Board of Commissioners, and the large sums of money owed by the company and its failure to pay these amounts until this moment despite all the negotiations and dialogues that took place.” With the company.
She continued: She would like to inform Iraqi public opinion of the following:
First - The Communications and Media Commission directed to stop the sale and trading of any new SIM cards belonging to Korek Communications Company.
Secondly - The Authority calls on honorable citizens not to purchase any new SIM cards belonging to Korek.
Third - The Authority assures agents and points of sale not to sell or trade any new chips of the company, otherwise they will be subject to legal accountability.
Fourth - We announce to the public opinion that the Communications and Media Commission is in the process of severing the interconnection between Korek Telecom and the mobile phone companies operating in the country within ten days from the date of this statement, until the company fulfills its financial obligations.
