The Communications and Media Commission cut off international communications with Korek Telecom, while a television channel was warned due to its dealings with the same company.
A statement by the company said on Saturday that the Authority had addressed the Ministry of Communications to instruct the General Company for Communications and Informatics for the purpose of blocking the company's entire telephone traffic, including international ones.
He added that the Transport and Communications Committee in the House of Representatives obligated the Ministry of Communications to stop all procedures related to cutting off interconnections and international connections at the present time and give the company the time that was agreed upon for the purpose of settling the amounts due and ensuring their payment to the state, which ensures the preservation of public money, preventing its waste, and that subscribers retain their rights. .
The company added in its statement that the Authority warned one of the television channels because it continued to broadcast promotional advertisements for the company, until it corrects its legal and financial situation in accordance with the Authority’s controls.
At the beginning of this November, the Iraqi Media and Communications Commission directed the two mobile phone companies, “Atheer Telecom Iraq Limited” and “Asiacell,” to cut off their interconnection with Korek Telecom due to the expiration of the latter’s licenses.
On April 30, the head of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Moayyed, announced that he had won a “final and binding” judicial decision in favor of the Commission for Korek Telecom, to pay approximately $800 million to the Iraqi state treasury.
In early May, the owner of Korek Telecom, Sirwan Barzani, considered the decision issued by the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission, to fine the company $800 million, unjust and unjust.
After the company's license expired last August, the Authority issued 4 decisions against Korek Telecom, which are as follows:
*Stop selling and trading any new chips belonging to the company.
*The Communications Authority called on citizens not to purchase any new SIM cards belonging to Korek.

*The Authority assured agents and points of sale not to sell or trade any new chipsets of the company, otherwise they will be subject to legal accountability.
