    Baghdad today - Erbil
Political disputes between the two main parties in the Kurdistan region are afflicting the Kurdish citizen, who is now experiencing one crisis after another as Yekti and Parti continue to exchange accusations and blame, while the political position of the Kurds before Baghdad is not far from these differences, according to political science specialists.

    Disagreements and regional power
Aram Mustafa, professor of political science at Sulaymaniyah University, confirmed today, Wednesday (November 8, 2023), that disagreements between the Kurdish parties led to the region losing its previous strength.
Mustafa said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The region had great power in political, security and economic decision-making in Iraq, and it was considered a center for most activities in Iraq."
He explains, "In previous years, all Iraqi parties, both Sunni and Shiite, wanted to please the Kurdistan region," noting that "no decision or draft law was taken except with the approval of the region, but internal disputes and crises within Kurdistan led to a period of great weakness."
The political science professor stated, “The current situation and the crises that the Kurdish citizen is suffering from in Kurdistan require new solutions, the most important of which is ending the internal dispute and focusing on the unity of the position, as the parties, specifically the two major parties, were doing in the years following the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime in 2003.”
He pointed out that "disagreements existed, but were confined within the region, but now they are affecting the strength of the Kurdish position before Baghdad."
    Disclaimer
Disagreements continue between the two parties, the Patriotic Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, while the former absolves itself of responsibility for the salary crisis by blaming the latter.
On (November 1, 2023), the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan disclaimed its responsibility for the region’s employee salaries file, while indicating that it had no “financial decision.”
The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiyath Sorgi, says, "His party does not have any influence on the financial decision in the Kurdistan region."
Sorgi added in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The Ministry of Finance in the region is managed by the Change Movement, and the oil file and the Ministry of Natural Resources are controlled by the Kurdistan Democratic Party."
He points out that "he does not have a single employee in the Ministry of Natural Resources," noting that "the oil file is completely managed by the Prime Minister of the Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, so we cannot help employees in the issue of delayed payment of salaries."
He pointed out that "his help is to make demands in Baghdad, after the Union did the impossible in Kurdistan and boycotted the Council of Ministers sessions, but to no avail."
