    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Monday (November 13, 2023), member of the Iraqi Parliament, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, reviewed the expected American pressure cards on Baghdad, with the continuation of military attacks targeting American forces in Iraq.
Al-Baldawi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "Washington has several cards for pressure and interference in internal affairs in an attempt to impose its opinion on the scene according to what meets its policy, and diplomacy may be part of these cards at some stage."
But Al-Baldawi ruled out "the possibility that America would pressure European diplomatic missions and other countries to withdraw from Iraq as a pressure card against the Sudanese government if the resistance factions' marches continued targeting military bases."
He added, “The most important pressure card through which Washington is trying to influence the Iraqi scene is the economic dimension by not providing Baghdad with its entitlement from oil sales in dollars, accompanied by the embassy’s interference in internal affairs, and it may go to a tool it adopted during the time of Abdul Mahdi’s government, which is inciting public opinion.” But in the end, America will lose its role in Iraq, especially with the contradiction between what it is doing and what it declares in terms of promoting policies that are far from reality and have caused tragedies for many people because of its bias and double standards.”
He pointed out that "diplomatic missions in Iraq are protected according to a legal principle, and Baghdad is committed to this, and there are no risks to their work, and any withdrawal by them must be for objective reasons," indicating that "the atmosphere is stable and does not tend towards any risks, and the withdrawal of any mission is currently excluded, especially since most Countries have interests with Iraq in economic dimensions.”
