Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, confirmed on Saturday that there is no need for any foreign forces inside Iraqi territory.
Rasoul stated in a statement followed by Al-Masala, that the reports that spoke about the entry of additional foreign forces into Iraq were not true, indicating “the imminent activation of the work of the joint committee between Iraq and the international coalition to schedule the coalition’s withdrawal from Iraq and reconsider the nature of the relationship in general.”
He added, "The Iraqi government is moving towards ending the foreign presence in Iraq and has a vision in the next stage that includes joint technical work to end the mission of the international coalition and move to the levels of bilateral security and military cooperation in armament and advice."
He pointed out that there is great government interest in the issue of arming and equipping the army and other security forces.
