Today, the Ministry of Interior announced important security achievements it achieved over the past week, while setting the date for activating fines via smart signals.
In a press conference, Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Miqdad al-Moussawi said: “Our forces were able to seize 250 kilograms of drugs and 200,000 narcotic pills of psychotropic substances during specific operations carried out in various parts of the country.”
He added: "We received the security file in the Samarra Operations Command and are preparing to hand it over in Diyala, Nineveh, and Salah al-Din. Anbar Governorate has also entered the stage of preparation to hand over security in city centers."
The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior confirmed that "the Joint Operations Command will continue the task of managing the security file in Iraq even if security responsibilities in the provinces are transferred to the Ministry of Interior."
In another context, the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior referred to “activating the radar system from the Iranian borders towards Holy Karbala on the occasion of the Arbaeen visit.”
He also announced that “fines will be activated via smart signals at major intersections in the middle of next March.”
The Interior Ministry spokesman confirmed that "the level of crime in Baghdad has decreased significantly."
He concluded by saying: “36,000 lawsuits have been referred to the courts and there is no stopping the fight against corruption.”
