The Cabinet reduces customs fees for importing livestock

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Council of Ministers issued a number of decisions, including reducing the amount of customs duty by 50 percent for importing livestock, as well as authorizing the mayor of Baghdad to directly implement projects to develop shops and streets.
A statement by the Council stated that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani chaired the eleventh regular session of the Council of Ministers, during which the general conditions in the country were discussed, and service and economic files were reviewed, in addition to deliberating on the topics on the agenda and taking the necessary decisions regarding them.”
He added, "As part of the government's efforts to develop the service reality of the capital, the Council of Ministers approved granting the Mayor of Baghdad the authority to directly implement and divide up the work of projects to develop shops and streets, as an exception to the budget implementation instructions." He pointed out, “In the field of supporting and strengthening the Iraqi market for livestock and sheep, the recommendation of the Ministerial Council for the Economy (24082 Q) was approved, which included reducing the amount of customs duty on live animals imported for slaughtering or breeding purposes (calves, sheep, and cows) by 50 percent of the current duties.” It will become 2 percent for (calves, sheep, and cows) imported for slaughter purposes, and it will become 5 percent for (calves, sheep, and cows) imported for breeding purposes, to be reviewed after one year, and this decision will be implemented starting from the date of its issuance.”
