Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Iraqi politician Muhammad Zangana said that he does not rule out canceling the possible visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iraq, if the two parties do not agree on a number of problematic issues in their relations.
Last Thursday, a Turkish delegation headed by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks in Baghdad. At the conclusion of the talks, a joint statement was issued, in which it was stated that work is underway to prepare for Erdogan’s visit to Iraq, and that the visit will take place after the end of the month of Ramadan (after mid-April).
Zangana, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, added: “There are many difficult problems facing Ankara and Baghdad: security-related issues due to the activities of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (which Turkey considers a terrorist organization), water resources problems, and the infiltration of militants through border gaps to commit operations against Turkey.” As well as the ongoing operations of the Turkish army in Iraq. “I think all these issues are being discussed between the two parties.”

Zangeneh pointed out, “All these problems cannot be solved in one or two meetings, and the two parties may not be able to reach an agreement or find a suitable basis for it, so Erdogan’s visit to Iraq may be canceled or postponed.”
This Iraqi politician stressed that the prevailing belief that the Iraqi Kurdistan government sponsors the Kurdistan Workers' Party is a wrong idea.
He pointed out that “Iraqi Kurdistan is the region that suffers most from the PKK, as they now control about 200 villages in the Zakho region and about 600 villages in Dohuk and on the border.
