, today, Thursday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party presented several alternatives to resolve the candidate of the President of the Republic, ruling out resorting to the opposition.
The Secretary of the Political Bureau of the party, Fadel Mirani, said, "President Masoud Barzani will receive the joint president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, to discuss the candidate of the President of the Republic," expressing his hope that "the meeting will be good, and after this interview, the party's political bureau will meet with the National Union to discuss and agree on A way to replace the union or put forward a joint candidate."
Regarding the case of candidate Hoshyar Zebari, he stressed, "The problem about Zebari is not corruption files, but financial mismanagement, according to what I saw in the initial file, as the administrative staff in the ministry is responsible for it," noting that "we are waiting for the court's decision next Sunday, Therefore, we must have a better reserve candidate, whether we agree with the federation or not, or if the court decides to dismiss the case or not."
And he indicated that "our candidate is currently unknown, and there is a high possibility that Fouad Hussein will be one of the candidates," stressing "the necessity of the unity of the Kurdish rank."
He suggested that "two candidates will be agreed upon," explaining that "in previous years, the position of the president of the republic was from the union's share, so let the next four years be for the Democratic Party, and the National Union takes the rest of the other positions."
He stressed that "our alliance with al-Sadr and sovereignty continues," explaining that "the Democratic Party and the National Union cannot resort to the opposition." Ended 29 / h
