    [size=45]The economic affairs specialist, Ali Hani, explained the necessity of tourism investment in the historic city of Samarra, pointing out “the importance of improving the economic reality of the city and the country in general.”[/size]
    [size=45]Hani said, “The city of Samarra is considered one of the Iraqi cities of great historical importance, and this is due to several reasons, including: (its unique religious and architectural status).”[/size]
    [size=45]He added, “Samarra is distinguished by unique architectural landmarks, such as the Malawi Minaret, which is a unique architectural symbol and reflects the ingenuity of Islamic architecture in the Abbasid era.”[/size]
    [size=45]The economic affairs specialist confirmed that “UNESCO’s inclusion of the city of Samarra on the World Heritage List is supposed to enhance its cultural and tourism value and make it an internationally recognized destination.”[/size]
    [size=45]Regarding the benefits of tourism investment in Samarra, Ali Hani explains, “Developing the local economy and developing tourism in Samarra will provide new job opportunities for local residents, starting from jobs in the hospitality sector to handicrafts and tourist guides,” noting that “investment in tourism requires improving Infrastructure, such as roads, hotels, and tourist facilities.”[/size]
    [size=45]He stated, “Tourism is considered an important source of foreign currencies, which helps improve the trade balance and support the national economy,” pointing out that “increasing tourist interest enhances efforts to preserve historical and archaeological monuments, ensuring their survival for future generations.”[/size]
    [size=45]The economic affairs specialist continued, “Investing in tourism in Samarra not only contributes to preserving cultural heritage, but also enhances economic and social development in Iraq.”[/size]
    [size=45]Samarra was founded in the ninth century AD as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate, and contains many important archaeological sites such as: (the Great Mosque, the Malawiya Minaret, and the Shrine of the Two Askari Imams).[/size]
