France praises the efforts of Nechirvan Barzani in resolving the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad

Shafaq News/ On Sunday, the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, praised the efforts made by the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, to resolve the differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
The regional presidency said in a statement that President Nechirvan Barzani received the French ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel.
The statement added that in the meeting, the two sides renewed their support for developing French relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and highlighted opportunities to expand mutual cooperation in all fields.
According to the statement, the two sides exchanged views on the situation in the Kurdistan Region, and agreed to hold Kurdistan parliamentary elections at the appropriate time this year with the participation of all political parties and components in Kurdistan.
The presidential statement noted that in another aspect of the meeting, the importance of dialogue was discussed to resolve the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, and the progress in bilateral relations was evaluated positively. In this regard, the French ambassador appreciated the efforts of the President of the Kurdistan Region, and expressed his country's support for resolving these issues.
Maintaining political stability in Iraq, the situation in the region, and many issues of common interest was another focus of the meeting, which was attended by the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, according to the statement.
