Marwan Ahmed, supervisor of the (My Account) project, announced today, Thursday, July 4, 2024, that about 75,000 employees in Erbil will receive their salaries this month through (My Account) bank.
Marwan Ahmed said in an interview: “Since the launch of the (My Account) banking project, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has held talks with Federal Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali al-Alaq, to start the (My Account) project.”
He added: “After the previous Federal Court decision, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government was communicating with the federal side to solve the problems, but the Federal Court ruled yesterday that all banks licensed by the Central Bank, not just government banks, can participate in the (Hisabi) project.”
He pointed out that “one of the conditions for banks to participate in the (Hisabi) project is that they have branches in the Kurdistan Region, so that they can provide services to our employees,” adding: “Our doors will be open to all banks that adhere to the conditions we have set.”
He explained that “according to the plan we have set, about 75,000 employees will receive their salaries through (My Account) in Erbil this month,” adding: “The project will gradually expand to include other cities in the Kurdistan Region, in the coming months.”
He stressed that “every employee who creates a bank account will see all the names of the banks, as well as all the services of these banks and the offers provided to employees via a website. Therefore, the employee has the freedom to choose the bank in which he wishes to open an account.”
