    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Electricity announced, on Thursday, the operation of the (400 kV) line and the Al-Faw secondary station to relieve congestion in Basra.
The media office of the Minister of Electricity said in a statement, which was reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhel, praised the efforts of the staff of the Energy Transmission Company in the southern region, after their success in operating the (400 kv) line from the Shatt al-Basra gas station to the Faw station (400 kv) with a design capacity of (1000 MVA)."

The statement added that "this operation will contribute to solving the bottlenecks in the electrical network in the areas of Abu al-Khaseeb, Sihan, al-Siba and al-Faw, and the aforementioned line aims to supply the Faw station, which is considered the most important joint of the Gulf interconnection project, in addition to its role in discharging loads and providing stable electricity."

The ministry indicated that the average hours of supply for Basra Governorate exceed 22 hours per day.
