The Parliamentary Legal Committee announced, on Thursday, that it is working on amending the Civil Service Law and canceling the decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council.
Committee member Mohammed Al-Khafaji said that amending the Civil Service Law will contribute to canceling a large number of decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council, noting that the amendment will be made during the current parliamentary session.
He added that canceling the decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council requires replacing them with laws that keep pace with the political and social process in Iraq. He continued
that the most prominent laws under amendment are the Civil Service Law, the Personal Status Law and amending Article 57 thereof, as well as the Iraqi Penal Code and other laws.
He pointed out that the House of Representatives is awaiting the Supreme Judicial Council to send an amendment to the Iraqi Penal Code in order to begin the amendment procedures.
