Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Adel Al-Rikabi, confirmed today, Thursday, that the budget of the Ministry of Higher Education is very small and does not live up to the level of ambition.
Al-Rikabi told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The Higher Education Committee supports the government in implementing its government program, especially in the field of higher education, universities and infrastructure."
He added, "The higher education budget in the 2024 budget is very small compared to the allocations of other ministries and universities in other countries."
He pointed out that "the committee hopes that the government will raise the budget of the Ministry of Education because education is a fundamental pillar for the country's progress, stressing that Iraq is in dire need of keeping pace with scientific development." End / 25 H
