    Information / Baghdad ...
For years, America has been working to ensure that Iraq does not join the Belt and Road Initiative (Silk Road) that links China to Europe through Iraq.
This American action has several reasons, one of which is that it does not want its arch enemy China to dominate the world in the movement of goods, and the second thing is that it wants Iraq to remain a prisoner of its interests and agenda that aims to drag it backwards and prevent it from progressing.
The most important thing is that this road will choke the American land and sea navigation as well as the movement of the Zionist entity.
Iraq tried to join this path during the governments of Haider al-Abadi and Adel Abdul Mahdi, but America stood against Iraq joining this path.
A report by the Modern Diplomacy website confirmed that the importance of the Middle East region does not lie only in its enormous oil wealth, but also in its geographical location that connects several continents in the world. It is the cradle of the ancient Silk Road project that China seeks to revive once again to link global trade.
The report, which was translated by Al-Maalouma Agency, stated that "this region witnessed competition between the great powers to gain loyalties between the East and the West to control the bridge that connects three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. Also, important channels such as the Suez Canal, the Turkish Strait, the Strait of Hormuz and the Strait of Gibraltar are considered strategic, military and important checkpoints in the region."
He added, "The huge oil reserves in the Middle East, the economic and maritime routes and the geopolitical location are the reason why this region has been a victim of political crisis and competition between the great powers for a long time and has now become an area of conflict between the West, China and Russia because each of them, i.e. the Eastern Alliance led by Russia and the Western Alliance led by the United States, is competing to find influence in this region."
He continued, "The Chinese Silk Road also plays an important role in the Middle East crisis, because the Chinese Silk Road was a network of trade routes that passed through the Middle East and connected China and the Far East with the Middle East and Europe. In order to destroy this route, destabilizing the Middle East was one of the main goals of the West to prevent China's economic growth."
He pointed out that "this is among the reasons that prompted the West to train terrorist groups to sabotage the region and make it unsuitable while dominating its wealth and capabilities and overthrowing pro-Russian and pro-Chinese governments. The best example of this is that Afghanistan became a victim of the 40-year war, which began the origin of terrorist ideas and extremist groups from the Gulf States and the Middle East."
He pointed out that "in order to control the oil reserves in the Middle East, and to prevent the military and economic development of China and Russia, America destroyed the large and powerful governments in the Middle East and spread dozens of terrorist groups in the region in order to destabilize it and support them financially from the oil resources stolen by the West and the United States."
The report indicated that "the Middle East no longer sees peace and tranquility. Because America also supports dictatorship and supports the apartheid system in Israel, which means that what America has done to the region is no less than what the Nazis did to Europe and the British did to Africa."
In Iraq... Hussein Al-Karaawi, the official in charge of the organizing body of the popular movement for the Belt and Road, accused America of standing against Iraq joining the Silk Road project, in service of Zionist interests.
Al-Karawi told Al-Maalouma Agency, "America obstructed Iraq's entry into the project despite Iraq's support for it during the governments of Haider al-Abadi and Adel Abdul Mahdi."
He added, "America stood in the way of developing Iraq, especially the central and southern provinces, in service of the Zionist interest and in support of the so-called development path that serves America, its allies and its occupying entity."
He believed that "it is in Iraq's interest to move towards the Silk Road project, which generates revenues of up to $500 billion annually."
The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Ali Hussein Al-Fatlawi, confirmed that the Silk Road is the best and most extensive way for goods to enter directly from East Asian countries to Iraq and then to Europe, indicating that it represents a real shift from American hegemony.
Al-Fatlawi told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The Silk Road between Iraq and China represents a real shift from American hegemony to a multipolar system, especially in the commercial aspect," noting that "its economic benefit to Iraq is very great."
He added that "China currently represents the largest pillar in the field of industry and trade, and that the Silk Road is better than the development road, as the latter represents the floating of trade between Europe and the Gulf countries," indicating that "the development road project came in accordance with the American-Turkish will to thwart the Silk Road."
It is noteworthy that the Silk Road project represents an explicit Chinese ambition to reshape the geopolitical landscape in the region and the world, and an attempt to get rid of American influence and limit American control over the most important trade routes in the seas and oceans through its naval fleets.
