The Council of Ministers: Plots of residential lands for the people of the “Haritha” incident

The Council of Ministers decided, in its session held yesterday, Monday, headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to grant the families of those who died in the painful car-ramming accident that occurred in Al-Haritha district in Basra Governorate on April 2, 2024, residential plots of land with an area of 200 square meters, while it voted to increase the workers’ pension. Those guaranteed for an amount not exceeding 150 thousand dinars per month.
At the beginning of the session, Al-Sudani recalled the attack by ISIS terrorist gangs and their control over the city of Mosul in 2014, and stressed that the plan that was thwarted by the people of Iraq and its armed forces, with all its types, was what was decreed for the misguided gang to prevail in the region, but the resolve of our people, supported by the blessed fatwa. For the supreme authority represented by Sayyed Ali al-Sistani (may his life be long), and the solidarity of all Iraqi forces, the attack of evil was repelled and the land was liberated, with great sacrifices.
He added that the great victory achieved over the dark gangs of ISIS must push us to work more and continue to bring about an urban development renaissance, recalling the sacrifices of the martyrs, members of our armed forces, of all types, and innocent civilians and missing persons, asking God Almighty to heal them. Wounded in that honorable fight.
The Council approved the allocation of contract grades for work in guarding archaeological sites exclusively for residents of those governorates.
The Council agreed to exclude the Iraqi Red Crescent Society from the budget implementation instructions for the year (2023-2024-2025), in order to purchase materials and goods within the aid and relief materials sent to our people in the Gaza Strip.
The Prime Minister directed that the levels of Iraq's participation in international conferences and activities be in accordance with reciprocal treatment with the host countries participating in the activities hosted by Iraq.
While the Council approved the sixth annual report of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Council for the year 2023, the Prime Minister directed the formation of a committee to study the proposal to form a directorate specialized in financial investigation, to unify the competent investigation authority.
The Council discussed the topics on its agenda and took the necessary decisions regarding them.
