    Today, Wednesday (June 12, 2024), the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee confirmed that Iraq plays a “pivotal role” in establishing a ceasefire in Gaza through mediations with various countries.
    Committee member Abbas al-Jubouri told “Baghdad Today” that “Iraq plays a pivotal role in important issues on the regional and international arena, and it had a distinguished role in the Gaza war by supporting the Palestinian cause and seeking to put pressure to stop the war and massacres against the Palestinian people.”
    He added, "The visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to Jordan discussed the issue of shooting in Gaza," pointing out that "Iraq is in contact with Egypt, Qatar and other countries with the aim of a ceasefire and gaining international support to help the Palestinians and rebuild and build after the complete destruction of Before the war machine of the Zionist entity.
    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani returned to the capital, Baghdad, yesterday, Tuesday, after participating in the conference (Emergency Humanitarian Response in Gaza), which was hosted by Jordan, yesterday, Tuesday.

    The Sudanese also met with "US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Tariq Ahmed, and the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Kate Forbes."
