    Basra Provincial Council Chairman Khalaf Al-Badran announced today, Friday (July 5, 2024), the adoption of referring District 651 to service projects this year, indicating that he will seek, in cooperation with council members, to complete its referral file during this year.
    Al-Badran told Baghdad Today, "Including the aforementioned district in the projects plan that will be discussed at the beginning of next week requires the approval of the members, and I believe that everyone wants to provide services to the Basra citizen, and accordingly, it is possible to seek to add District 651, fertilizers and electricity, to the projects plan."
    He added that "the residents' appeal was received via (Baghdad Today)," noting that "the council will take the appropriate decision to work on including it without transferring it to next year according to what will be agreed upon by the council members, where the appropriate decision will be taken for referral."
    Al-Badran called on a committee from the district to "meet him tomorrow, Friday or Saturday, to seek to include the services in their district."
    It is noteworthy that a number of citizens who own the 651 fertilizer and electricity district appealed to the local government in Basra to add their district to the governorate’s projects plan for the current year 2024.
    A number of them told Baghdad Today, "The plan reached the council from the governorate without inclusion, despite the fact that it was distributed in 2013 and until now there is no street leading to it or the provision of services to it," noting that "every year we wait and the services to the district are postponed until the following year and most of us live in rented accommodation."
