MP for the Democratic Party bloc, Mahma Khalil, revealed today, Saturday, a political agreement to decide the position of Parliament Speaker.
Khalil told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The meetings and encounters held by the political forces in the presence of the head of the Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, in Baghdad were related to a group of files, the most prominent of which was the file of the presidency of the Council of Representatives."
He added, "All Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish political forces agreed to decide on the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives during the first sessions of the next legislative term, which will begin two days from now."
He stressed that "the discussions with the Sunni component took place in a positive atmosphere that will help resolve some of the problems between the Progress and Sovereignty blocs." End / 25m
