Member of the Council of Representatives Haider Al-Salami considered, today, Saturday, that the parliament "did not perform its supervisory role" over the executive authority during the last legislative session, while he attributed this to several reasons.

Al-Salami said in an interview with Sumarya News, "The parliament, during the last legislative session, did not perform its real supervisory role on the executive authority, such as interrogations, questions, and hosting ministers," indicating that "the reason for this is the events that the parliament witnessed during the recent period."

Al-Salami added, "We hope that these problems and crises will not be transferred to the next legislative session, so that the council members can exercise their true oversight role better than before."
