    Al-Maalouma / Baghdad.. 
    Independent MP Hadi Al-Salami revealed, today, Saturday, that 190 signatures were collected from parliament members to amend Article 57 on child custody. 
    Al-Salami told /Al-Maalouma/ agency, "There is a great desire among members of the House of Representatives to amend Article 57, which grants the father the right to custody of the child after he reaches the age of seven, while the current law in force grants the mother the right to custody of the child until he reaches the age of ten."
    He pointed out that "the new legislative session will witness the amendment of many laws enacted by the previous regime, including the Personal Status Law, the Iraqi Penal Code, and other laws." End / 25H
