    Information / Special..
Member of the House of Representatives, Sabah Sobhi, revealed today, Saturday, the reasons for not passing the draft oil and gas law, while confirming that the draft law was prepared by the federal government and did not take the opinion of the regional government.
Sobhi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, "The draft oil and gas law was written within the federal oil ministry," indicating that "the new draft law is incomplete as it did not take the opinion of the regional government."
He added that "the draft oil and gas law is vague and does not meet the aspirations of the oil-producing provinces," calling for "the need to discuss technical issues to come up with a draft that meets the aspirations of Baghdad and Erbil as well as the oil-producing provinces."
Since the first session of the Iraqi Parliament in 2005, the draft oil and gas law has been stuck in the drawers, as disagreements prevent its approval in its final form. End / 25 H
