Modern global technologies to combat desertification

The Ministry of Agriculture has adopted modern global technologies used for the first time to combat desertification. According to experts, sand dunes cover more than four million dunums in the country. The Director General of the Horticulture and Forestry Department at the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Bassam Kanaan Abdul Jabbar, told Al-Sabah that his department has adopted a modern global technology applied for the first time in the country to combat desertification, namely (water boxes), each of which holds 15 to 20 liters of water and is filled through basins, with the aim of providing water to plants gradually through threaded pipes.
