[rtl]Cryptocurrency startups raised more money but closed fewer deals during the last quarter of this year, reflecting a broader slowdown in the world of crypto assets.[/rtl]
[rtl]Data from PitchBook shows that venture investments in cryptocurrency companies reached $2.7 billion in the three months ending in June last year, up 2.5% from the first quarter of this year and down 9.8% from the same period last year. The number of deals closed fell by 12.5% compared to the first quarter.[/rtl]
[rtl]Overall, the cryptocurrency market has been facing a tougher period after prices hit record highs during the first quarter amidst the hype surrounding the fact that U.S. exchange-traded funds were allowed to hold Bitcoin for the first time.[/rtl]
