An informed source revealed, today, Friday (September 6, 2024), that Finance Minister Taif Sami headed a large delegation that includes members of the Financial Supervision Bureau and members of the Parliamentary Finance Committee to Erbil.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "Sami will visit Erbil tomorrow, Saturday, with a delegation from the Finance Committee, and will meet with officials of the region, including Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Finance Minister Awat Sheikh Janab."
He added, "The Minister of Finance will discuss with Barzani and the Minister of Finance of the region the resolution of the employees' salaries file and the problem in the lists, the resolution of the file of new appointments and contracts, the follow-up of the settlement file, and also the resolution of the file of disbursing salaries for last August in a final manner, and the duplicate names in the lists."
Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Narmin Marouf, revealed in statements to Kurdish media outlets today, Friday, that Taif Sami will visit Erbil tomorrow, noting that the distribution of salaries for last August depends on the speedy resolution of technical problems between Baghdad and Erbil.
