Al-Sudani appoints Mohammed Ali Al-Lami as head of the Integrity Commission

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani decided, yesterday, Wednesday, to assign Mohammed Ali Al-Lami as the head of the Integrity Commission, while stressing the government's continuation of the Baghdad International Airport rehabilitation project.
A statement from his office, received by "Al-Sabah", stated that "the Prime Minister decided to assign Mohammed Ali Al-Lami as the head of the Integrity Commission, succeeding Haider Hanoun, who the Council of Ministers voted to appoint as a special advisor in the Ministry of Justice in its session the day before yesterday, Tuesday, and submitted a recommendation to the House of Representatives to vote on him in this regard."
According to the statement, Al-Sudani appreciated "Hanoun's efforts in combating corruption throughout his past term as head of the Integrity Commission," stressing "the government's continuation in fighting corruption, which is one of its priorities, wishing success and good luck to the new head of the commission."
It is noteworthy that Mohammed Ali Al-Lami is the oldest Director General of the Integrity Commission, and has extensive experience in legal and administrative work related to integrity. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to follow up on the Baghdad International Airport development project.
Another statement received by Al-Sabah stated that "the two sides discussed during the meeting the steps taken by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to attract investors and companies specialized in airport management, which numbered 14 companies." The Prime Minister confirmed, according to the statement, "the government's continuation of the Baghdad International Airport rehabilitation project despite all the challenges, as it underwent an in-depth study and took up space for research at the government and Ministry of Transport levels." He explained that "the project's model includes many advantages that have made most of the successful airports in the region work on it and are managed through it," and directed "the necessity for rehabilitation and development operations to be in accordance with the latest specifications and standards set by international organizations concerned with airports." He continued, "The project will achieve two basic principles, the first is doubling profits and revenues, and the other is improving the service provided to citizens." In addition, Al-Sudani received the head and members of the Parliamentary Health Committee yesterday, Wednesday, and explained the importance of integrating the relationship between the executive and legislative authorities in order to support development plans and programs, and emphasizing the work of parliamentary committees, with what they provide in terms of legislative cover for the health projects that the government is working on throughout Iraq. The Prime Minister also stressed that health services are a matter that cannot be neglected, and the health file represents one of the most important files included in the government program within the five basic priorities.
