Today, Thursday, Minister of Commerce Athir Dawood Al-Ghariri directed the completion of preparations for the purpose of starting to update the data of families covered by the rationing system.
A statement by the ministry received by "Al-Eqtisad News" stated that "Minister of Trade Athir Dawood Al-Ghariri chaired an expanded meeting to discuss the latest preparations for launching the automation of the new ration card and the mechanisms for starting in the experimental environment and then in the rest of the governorates, which is scheduled to be launched early next month with follow-up by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Trade, the ministerial team, cybersecurity specialists, the Ministry of Communications, and the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers."
During the meeting, the Minister directed "the necessity of completing these preparations in order to begin updating the data of families covered by the rationing system within the agreed upon timeframes included in the contract concluded with the company that will implement the project within a new and advanced electronic program."
He pointed out that "the ministry, within the paragraphs of the government program for automating the ration card, proceeded to take practical and precise measures in cooperation with other ministries and sectoral bodies to work on building a solid database to target the segments covered by the ration system and enhance the efficiency of ration distribution, reduce effort and time, and preserve public money to improve the level of services provided to citizens."
The Minister noted that "all deletion, division, additions and other activities will be carried out through the electronic program, and will be launched immediately after the completion of the update operations."
The Minister stressed that "his ministry also sought, through this new program, to remove all obstacles that citizens previously faced, so that those covered can benefit from the application's services in an easy and quick manner, which enhances the level of comfort and flexibility in managing their food affairs."
