    Information/Baghdad...
Economic researcher Diaa Abdul Karim explained on Thursday that Iraq does not need to extend an oil pipeline towards the port of Aqaba, noting that Iraq exports specific quantities of oil according to what is decided by OPEC and its exports will not increase with the increase in export outlets.
Abdul Karim told Al-Maalouma, "The step of extending the oil pipeline towards the port of Aqaba on Jordanian territory is not a correct step at the present time, as it will cost Iraq large sums of money that cannot be compensated for by oil exports."
He added, "OPEC has its own laws and regulations that it operates by, whereby each oil country determines the quantities it exports through its export outlets, and Iraq currently exports more than 3 million barrels without any difficulties in the export process through its outlets."
He pointed out that "the current oil export outlets did not suffer any pressure or problems, in addition to the fact that increasing the number of outlets does not mean increasing the quantities of oil exported, especially since there are specific quantities for export." End 25N
