[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Ministry of Transport announced, on Thursday, the date for the completion of the first phase of the Grand Faw Port, while confirming that the designs of the railway line and soil investigations for the development road have reached 100% completion.
The ministry's media office said in a statement: The progress of work at the Faw Port is continuing and the first phase will be completed next year.
The statement added that the year 2025 will witness the completion of the first phase of the Grand Faw Port, which is one of the components of the development road, and the completion operations are continuing in its five projects, as the completion rates have reached 100% in the five docks project, while the linking road has reached advanced stages of paving operations in addition to starting to install electric poles for the road.
He added that the completion rates are also progressing in the two bridges of the road linking the port of Faw and Umm Qasr, as the first bridge has reached 98% while the completion rate in the second is estimated at 96%, and the next few days will witness the delivery of the docks, in addition to the continuation of the gradual progress of work in the navigation channel and the increase in the completion rates in it at a rate exceeding what was planned.
The statement continued: "We are still in the initial design phase of the development road project, which has reached its final stages, as the percentages of the railway line, topographic survey, and soil investigations have reached 100%, while the percentages of completion of the land road have reached 84%."
He pointed out: "The next step will be to move to the final design phase, then announce the project to major international companies to compete in its implementation and choose the most appropriate of them to serve the interests of the people and the country according to the vision of the Iraqi government, to make the country's strategic projects a success with close and direct follow-up by the Prime Minister and the Supreme Committee for the Development Road Project and Faw Port." / End 3[/rtl]
