    Security expert Ahmed Al-Tamimi presented an analytical reading on Israel's response to Iran today, Saturday (October 26, 2024). While he confirmed that it took place in 3 stages and took 40 minutes, he indicated that it targeted missile platforms near the Iraqi border.
    Al-Tamimi told Baghdad Today, "Through the information we gathered from several sources through following up on the details of the Israeli response to 16 military targets distributed in 4 Iranian provinces," stressing that "it took place in 3 stages and lasted only about 40 minutes."
    He added, "All indications indicate that Iran knew the timing of the attack and perhaps even the targets, and this comes within a policy imposed by facts that Washington and Tel Aviv have reached the conviction that Tehran will have no choice but to respond harshly if the strikes are harsh and target important and strategic targets, referring to nuclear, oil or gas stations, in addition to international pressure that considered that proceeding with these options would lead to breaking red lines and would move the entire region to another state in which an open, comprehensive war cannot be avoided."
    Al-Tamimi said, "It can be said that a significant portion of the missiles were shot down before reaching their targets," noting that "most of what was targeted were ground platforms for launching surface-to-surface missiles, some of which are located near the border with Iraq, at a distance of up to 40 km."
    Earlier today, Saturday (October 26, 2024), the Israeli army spokesman reported that dozens of fighters were participating in attacks on targets in Tehran, Mashhad, and a power station in Karaj .
    The Israeli army spokesman said in a statement seen by Baghdad Today: "The army is now attacking military targets in Iran with precision, in response to the ongoing attacks launched by the Iranian regime against the State of Israel in recent months, in accordance with the directives of the political level."
    "The Israeli army is fully prepared for attack and defense, and we are following developments from Iran and its proxies," he added.
    The spokesman continued, "The Israeli army is conducting an ongoing assessment of the situation, and at this stage there is no change in the Home Front Command's directives."
    Media outlets reported that a very large number of warplanes and refueling planes were flying in the skies of Israel .
    Before that, the Iranian news agency "Fars" reported hearing several explosions in the capital, Tehran, at dawn on Saturday, without specifying their source.
