The National network revealed in a report published on Monday (November 4, 2024) that the British government has launched a public program inside Iraq worth more than $75 million, aiming to combat what it described as “Kurdish human trafficking gangs in France.”
The network said, according to what was translated by "Baghdad Today", that "the British government will begin its program inside Iraq to pursue what it described as "Kurdish gang leaders who control human smuggling operations from the French coast to Britain via the English Channel."
She continued: "The gangs coming from Iraqi Kurdistan have almost completely controlled human smuggling operations from France to Britain over the past years, as convicts from those gangs flee Europe and return to Iraq," explaining that "the British government will work through its program inside Iraq to arrest them in cooperation with the Iraqi authorities."
It is noteworthy that the program launched by British Prime Minister Keir Strummer will include establishing what he described in an interview with The National network as “intelligence centers outside the borders of Europe,” referring to Iraq, with the aim of tracking down and arresting those responsible for “Kurdish human trafficking gangs” operating in France, which he said are led from within Iraqi Kurdistan.
