The spokesman for the Oil Ministry, Assem Jihad said Iraq was released Saturday the first shipment of liquid gas estimated at "2000" tons.
Jihad said in an interview for "direction Press" that the export of the shipment of liquid gas is considered the beginning of the process of entering into the field of liquid gas export the surplus, pointing out that Iraq's production of the substance reached the limits of "5000" tonnes per day.
He pointed out that the amount of liquid gas production can be increased in the near future after the completion of the southern harbor to accommodate high amounts, stressing that he will be added in the future plans of many enterprises that positively reflected on the process of increasing production and export of this sector.
He said that after Iraq's success in increasing gas production, the focus position now in the development of this sector through the creation of the Basra Gas Company and the investment associated gas operations of oil production, which constitutes 7% of the gas resources, stressing that Iraq is planning to become the one producing and gas exporting countries in the region and the world.
It referred to as the oil ministry announced Saturday, 02/07/2016 from the export of the first shipment of liquefied natural gas through a dedicated port for the export of gas in the province of Basra, while suggesting it is in the process of implementing a strategic plan aimed at ending the phenomenon associated with the extraction of oil gas flaring by 2018.
