Ankara - Iraq Press - July 22: Turkey 's parliament approved the declaration of a state of emergency after a failed coup against Recep Tayyip Erdogan system.
It was Erdogan, who launched the clean -upcampaign and extensive in state institutions sincethe coup attempt on July 15, declared a state ofemergency "in line with Turkey 's constitution does not violate the rule of law or fundamental freedoms of the citizens."
The state of emergency will allow the President of the Republic and the Cabinet to bypass Parliament in issuing new laws and restrict or suspend therights and freedoms when necessary.
Erdogan declared emergency in a televised speech last Wednesday, after a meeting of the National Security Council lasted about five hours. Q ended
