It is worth mentioning that the Iraqi vice president has been accused of terrorism by an Iraqi court for nearly a year after the arrest of a number of his bodyguards as they confessed of murder at the instigation of al-Hashemi, whixh are denied by al- Hashemi and says it’s fabricated.

Tareq al-Hashemi resides in Turkey, in which he resorted to after leaving Iraq .

“There is suppression of freedoms in Iraq and that journalist’s face murder, threats and arrests”.

“The past two years have witnessed the death of nearly 5,000 Iraqis in the capital Baghdad, as in Hawija town about one hundred people were killed in April 2013,” Hashemi added.

Hashemi attacked the policies of Prime Minister, Nuri al- Maliki blaming him of lack of security in Iraq now.

“Iraq which was ten years ago subjected to dictatorship has taken today a new form,” pointing to “the escalation of terrorism in Iraq with increasing repression, as there are secret prisons , repression and continued persecution ,” he added.
